Dive Sites
You'll find some of the best dive sites in Thailand only a short boat ride away... Wall dives, shallow dives, coral reefs, the variety is endless. Only the water temperature is always the same; a very comfy 27-30 degrees centigrade :-)
Sail Rock
Sail Rock is undoubtedly the most famous dive site in the Gulf of Thailand. This Rock pinnacle, shaped like an iceberg, emerges from a sandy bottom at 40 metes to tower 15 meters above the oceans surface.
Located mid way between Koh Phangan and Koh Tao, Sail Rock provides large schools of pelagic's, steep walls, rugged rock formations and an awesome 'vertical chimney' swim through. The swim through, located on the northwest side starts from 18 meters down and exits at 6 meters where the natural light penetrating at the top makes it fantastically picturesque.
At 18 meters 2 divers can enter the cavern abreast where it bends vertically upwards. At 12 meters you will spot a hole that opens up and it is possible to swim back into open water from here. At the exit, just 6 meters from the surface, you will find yourself surrounded by a magnificent carpet of pink anemones full of vibrantly beautiful anemone fish.
Visibility is usually excellent at around 30 meters. The structure itself is pocked with small holes which are ideal homes for white-eyed and yellow margin moray eels, as well as large sea anemones.
Sightings of reef sharks and manta rays are also common, as are large schools of tuna, jacks, trevally and barracudas. During the winter months whale sharks can be seen on occasion.

Koh Ma
Koh Ma is a small island connected to Koh Phangan by a sandbar which is located in the north west of Koh Pha-ngan and offers a great range of colorful corals and fish.
Max. depth 24m, visibility is very dependant on the weather.
Ang Thong National Marine Park
The National Marine Park consists of forty-two islands and offers some of the most beautiful, vibrant, undamaged coral in Thailand. Explore one of the thrilling swim-throughs where you will find an exotic mix of marine life.
Koh Anthong has the best range of fish within the Gulf of Siam. There is more chance to see the rarer creatures such as turtles or seasnakes.
The sites are also scenic, featuring 2m. giant hydroids & black corals. They are not so steep, with more gradually shelving bottoms & special features such as outcroppings, swim throughs, minor drop offs & shallow caves/caverns.
The sites at Ang Thong can offer relaxing diving ideal not just for beginners but also for the more experienced diver, additionally it's fantastic for snorkelers. Max depth: 30m+
